Agencies, Boards, and Types

This API aggregates data from multiple state agencies. Each agency provides different kinds of data, as noted below.

Division of Occupational Licensure (DOL)

DOL licensing data is separated by "board" and "type" properties. Data is available for the following licensing boards and license types (source):

Board and type information is visible on the EPLACE/DOL license types in the following places:

  • Board: A 2 letter or number board code, corresponding with the table above.
  • Type: A 1-2 letter or number type code, corresponding with the table above.
  • Board Name: A human readable board name.
  • Type Name: A human readable license type name.

Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulations (OCABR)

Data also available at https://services.oca.state.ma.us/hic/hicexport.aspx

Only Home Improvement Contractor license data is currently available through this API.

The license type is visible on OCABR license types in the following places:

  • License Type Name: A human readable license type name.

Office of Public Safety and Inspections (OPSI)

OPSI provides data for several different licensing entities and license types (source):

License type and board information is visible on OPSI licenses in the following places:

  • Board: A human readable licensing entity (board).
  • Type: A human readable license type.
